Opening session of Internship

Report of Opening Session

It was the first day of our internship in Policy and Research Forum in Khurshid National Library and Chairperson of Policy and Research  Forum Brig Retd Ali Muhammad Khan has welcomed us in Muzaffarabad. It was a different feeling to be in Kashmir to learn about struggles of kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir. To be effective and helpful in a bigger cause requires that you have an understanding of that cause and you have up to date information about the cause and that was the caucus of our opening session in which we have discussed the major difference between Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian Occupied Kashmir, Brig Ali Khan has highlighted the history of Kashmir and efforts which have been put by Pakistanis and Kashmiris in order to freedom of Indian Occupied Kashmir. The facts and figures of Human rights violations by Indian forces  in Kashmir have been discussed and reports of United Nations on these violations have been the talking point in a lecture.

The strategy of Modi’s government to change the demography of Indian Occupied Kashmir have made us think about the dark future of kashmiri people. Four points formula of Pervaiz Musharraf have been the part of discussion which can be categorized as an effective solution of the Kashmir issue.

The first day at Research and Policy Forum was so insightful and have provide us a lot of information about the Kashmir issue. I am looking forward to a more exciting sessions and activities ahead which will help us to firm our grip on this issue and hopefully we will make a difference through our contributions in a cause.
