Day 2
Workshop on Digital Humanities
My second day at Policy and Research Forum was a fruitful one as Dr Sania has delivered an activity based lecture on Digital Humanities. We have been divided into group of six and have been assigned tasks to perform in a limited timeframe. I did not have background knowledge on digital humanities so this session was a great addition to my skills.
We have started the session with Canvas which is a very useful website for graphic designing with a user friendly manual. We made flyer as a group with statement which contain creativity to raise a voice on Kashmir cause. After completing our first activity we have been introduced to Word press which is very helpful for sharing our analysis and articles and we can use this to promote our work in a specific audience which mostly contains academia and journalists. We have uploaded our previous reports as our first blog in Word press. The last activity was more interesting as we used the “Timeline” software and learn a lot about this great feature which is used to make timeline on different issues.
In her opening remarks “DR Sania said that this workshop will be the great addition in our skills and CV and we will learn something new today” and I cannot agree more with her.
